OhioGuidestone is currently seeking to fill a new and exciting role with a candidate who desires to make the ultimate difference in the lives of children and their families. As the Nurse Manager of our Children’s Residential Treatment Center, you will be responsible for ensuring quality medical care of our residents and the daily leadership of the nursing staff. You will exhibit characteristics such as: collaboration, detail orientation, compassion, and a quality improvement mindset.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with mental or behavioral health, psychiatric care, or in a substance treatment program. Experience working in a youth residential environment would be strongly preferred. Advanced broad-based knowledge of nursing practice and theory as well as techniques of supervision, motivation and problem solving as applied to specific nursing responsibilities exhibited by a minimum RN licensure in Ohio and a minimum of 3 years management experience in nursing needed.

People Leadership:
- Manages the daily operations while ensuring appropriate staff levels to meet resident demand efficiently and effectively. May cover nursing shifts as needed
- Manage the time keeping for assigned staff.
- Lead the selection, training, and supervision of medical support staff.
- Responsible for staff supervision, performance evaluation, merit increases and disciplinary action, in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Manages the onboarding process for new Nurses, including practice site orientation.
- Attend and participate in scheduled in-service training, educational classes, and meetings to maintain current certification and as managed by regulatory agencies and company policies/procedures.
- Effectively communicates with providers, staff, clinic providers, internal departments, and external agencies.
- May be involved in planning, organization and implementation of special events, specific projects and/or program changes.
- Exhibits positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required and is a champion for nursing team to do the same.
Operational excellence:
- Maintains complete medical records regarding all residents served; acts upon treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Resolves administrative and operational problems including the maintenance of clinic property, clinic supplies, and
- Ensures compliance with regulations and standards laws regarding protected health information.
- In collaboration with Executive Medical leadership, ensures that procedure manuals are correct and up to date.
- Works with other clinical, behavioral, and medical staff to ensure a comprehensive health history is obtained and appropriate referrals are made for further assessment and treatment during intake and as needed.
- Observes safety needs of clients as indicated in individual treatment plan; participates in restraint reduction committee.
- Supports psychiatric providers and psychiatric procedures and practices.
- Makes rounds to assess the operation, physical and psychosocial needs of clients.
- Rotates on call for Residential Treatment with Nurse Lead.
- Reviews medication administration records for accuracy. Processes Medication Destruction Box and Forms Ensures complete documentation is obtained and retained per standards.
- Maintains vaccination clinic schedule 4x year.
- Reviews client TB tests and ensures annual testing compliance.
Financial Responsibility:
- Implements and adheres to quality improvements to impact Agency expenditures where needed.
- Reviews pharmacy bills, vendor statements and supply itemizations to ensure billing is correct prior to sending for approval and payment.
- Supports fiscal accountability of all assigned programs and services and participates in developing and maintaining budgets. I.e., supply costs, overtime.
Qualifications:
- Maintain a valid active RN license in the State of Ohio, required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Mission driven; fervent desire to make an impact.
- Exercises discretion and skilled professional judgment customarily and regularly.
- Flexible; able to workdays, evenings, and/or weekends, as desired to meet the needs of clients
- Strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple priorities with strict attention to detail and perform work independently.
- Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation as required.
- Effective computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records, etc.
- Ability to physically restrain residents whose ages, heights and weights vary.
- Must be able to stoop, stand, walk, bend, and stay upright to perform work.
- Ability to visually read written and digital information.
- Must be able to hear and dictate with clients using all means of communication including but not limited to in person, phone, and computer.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
- Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
- Successfully meet pre-employment drug screen, physical exam, and tuberculosis test requirements.
- Successfully meet all pre-employment background requirements.
