    Position Name: Advertising Account Executive

     

    The Daily Journal is seeking a dynamic and motivated Advertising Account Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new business clients, selling advertising space across our array of products. This role requires a proactive approach to prospecting, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to meet revenue targets.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Prospecting and Sales:

    • Identify and call on prospective businesses to sell advertising space in the Daily Journal’s range of products.
    • Utilize lead sources such as other publications, the internet, and business associations to find potential clients.
    • Attend networking events and business association meetings to build a pipeline of prospects.

     

    Account Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their advertising needs are met and exceeded.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and support to existing accounts.
    • Work closely with clients to create effective advertising strategies and campaigns.

     

    Travel and Meetings:

    • Spend at least 50% of the time traveling within the Los Angeles area to meet with prospective and existing clients.
    • Conduct face-to-face meetings and presentations to promote the Daily Journal’s advertising solutions.

     

    Revenue and Performance:

    • Achieve and exceed assigned monthly revenue goals and expectations.
    • Prepare regular reports on sales activities, client interactions, and revenue performance.

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in sales in media preferred.
    • 5 years previous B to B sales experience with a background in media sales preferred.
    • Proven experience in sales, preferably in advertising or a related field.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Familiarity with the Los Angeles business community and local market dynamics is a plus.
    • Proficiency in using the internet and other tools for prospecting and research.
    • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
    • Top-notch oral, written, and interpersonal abilities.
