As the Web Administrator, you will be responsible for development and maintenance of the Tennessee Aquarium website and other web-related duties to strengthen the Aquarium's internet presence, reinforce brand identity, support mission-related initiatives, and drive attendance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Create, maintain, and proactively update all web pages of the Aquarium website for promotional, educational, and informational use.
2. Ensure that the site is designed and deployed in a manner that is accessible, user-friendly, and functions seamlessly across various device types.
3. Lead the planning and implementation of web content for the Aquarium's website, working cross-functionally with staff from other departments.
4. Proactively review web content to ensure that all information is accurate and up to date, live streams are functional, and links are loading correctly.
5. Monitor webmaster inbox and notify appropriate staff about online discussions or inquiries that should receive a response from the Aquarium.
6. Update content on the Tennessee Aquarium app, or emerging platforms as needed.
7. Continuously monitor search engines to ensure that the Aquarium's website is easy to find and optimized across all search engines. Follow and maintain current SEO best practices.
8. Manage listings across third-party business listing platforms such as Google Business and TripAdvisor, as well as tourism sites such as the Chattanooga Tourism Company, Chamber of Commerce, and others.
9. Participate in concept development, creative thinking, and marketing planning to drive attendance.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in website design and development.
• BS in Computer Science or Web Development degree.
• Strong knowledge of Wordpress
• Strong knowledge of Google Analytics
• Basic knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop
• Basic knowledge of HTML, preferred.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to learn new internet technologies and apply them appropriately.
• Ability to work with various unique people and departments across the Aquarium

Full-time, hourly; Primarily 40 hrs./week Mon-Fri, may occasionally be required to complete urgent tasks outside of normal business hours when needed.
