Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Water Treatment Process Operations and Installation Technician - safely install, operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants; trouble shooting; regulate process controls; and maintain plant efficiency. Typical duties include: mechanical and electrical installation, oversight of filed personnel, collecting samples; performing analysis on water/wastewater samples for process monitoring and reportable analysis; monitoring the operation of the plant; adjusting plant valves, flows, and return rates; adjusting chemical dosages as needed; running various analytical tests; calibrating and maintaining lab and equipment; entering data from lab analysis; and possibly conducting local laboratory testing. Other responsibilities include performing general and preventative plant maintenance; ensuring water is good quality; ordering supplies and chemicals for treatment; maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment; and any other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
Typical Working Conditions: The job will require visits to customers or suppliers sites, which may have typical chemical process risks, including hazardous chemicals, tripping hazards, etc.
Equipment Used: Typical office equipment, computer, etc. Laboratory test equipment
Essential Physical Tasks: Must be able to frequently lift loads of 50-60 lbs. Must be sound with hand tools. Electrical and PLC experience a plus.
Must be able to pass drug and background screening required for refinery and chemical plant access
