Visitor Research Analyst - Museum evaluates and researches visitor experiences, learning, exhibition, program etc. Utilizes findings to inform appropriate exhibit and improve museum program development. Prepares visitors reports and technical papers to suggest enhanced innovative learning environments for museum. Being a Visitor Research Analyst - Museum requires a master's degree of social science or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or a manager. The Visitor Research Analyst - Museum gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. USRA is seeking a Research Assistant (Data Analyst) in support of Marshall Space Flight Center’s Land Use/Cover Change Science, Research and Products in Asia and World task. The RA will assist in spatial data analysis useful for land cover analysis. The RA will assist in the pre and post-processing of remotely sensed data using various tools such as Python, Matlab, Java script, and remote sensing software. Also, the candidate will help in delivering reports on scientific analysis.
This is a short-term position, lasting 6 to 12 months, subject to funding availability.
Required Qualifications:
- Good programming and data analysis skills in Python, MATLAB, JAVA Script, IDL, or similar.
- Statistical data analysis using R and any other software.
- Experience using Remote Sensing and GIS software (ERDAS, ENVI, QGIS, ArcGIS, etc. Or any other) desirable but not mandatory
- Well-organized, good level of independence, and ability to analyze data independently.
- Previous experience in data analysis projects desirable but not mandatory.
- Ability to write reports and project summaries.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Sciences, Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography, Remote Sensing, or a related academic field.
Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. This is largely a sedentary role.
This position is required to work on-site in Huntsville, AL.
