Join our innovative team as a Research Support Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in the technical setup and support of advanced research sessions involving recording, streaming, and interactive technologies. We are looking for a technically adept individual who is experienced in managing both audio and video systems, mobile devices, AR/VR technologies, and familiar with IT troubleshooting. This temporary position is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology and customer service, aiming to ensure seamless research experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure research labs with necessary AV and IT equipment including cameras, microphones, and interaction devices.
- Execute thorough testing and rehearsal of AV setups to meet and exceed client specifications.
- Provide expert-level technical support across audio capture devices, DSPs like Extron, and networked video solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in AV, IT, and mobile device setups ensuring quick resolution.
- Act as the primary technical contact during research sessions, delivering exceptional client service and support.
- Collaborate with IT and AV teams to integrate and optimize technology solutions within research environments.
- Keep abreast of the latest in AV technology, IT infrastructure, and interactive systems to enhance setup and functionality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (1-2 years) in technical support roles, ideally within a corporate AV or interactive technology setting.
- Deep understanding of audio and video signal processing and flow.
- Proficient with Windows OS, basic networking, and mobile platforms including iOS and Android.
- Experience with OBS and familiarity with Extron systems; AVIXA certification is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability in AR/VR setups and troubleshooting.
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities and flexibility to adapt in dynamic environments.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex systems to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Certifications
- Extron, AVIXA, or related AV/IT certifications preferred but not required.
Work Schedule
- This is a full-time, temporary position from Monday to Friday during regular business hours.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
