Trust Operations Officer directs the work of Trust Operations team in large and complex trust operations. Ensures that transactions are balanced and documented according to policies and procedures. Being a Trust Operations Officer oversees the input and maintenance of data in accounting systems and report generation. Coordinates the processing of dividends and disbursements. Additionally, Trust Operations Officer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Trust Operations Officer manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Trust Operations Officer typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Summary Description
Manages trust services for assigned region.
Essential Functions- Administers account relationships for assigned region
- Accesses, inputs and retrieves client account information utilizing trust accounting system
- Engages in substantial contact with trust clients, new business prospects, professionals and other bank representatives
- Prepares and participates in proactive client meetings regarding account administration and client needs
- Meets with existing and prospective customers to review and assess financial objectives
- Asset allocation of client portfolios
- Responsible for business development activities in assigned region
- Participates in various community relations related activities in assigned region
- Provides operational support to trust operations department
- May manage administrative assistant
- Adheres to all regulatory compliance policies and procedures
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Familiarity with a broad range of trust services including personal trust, investment management, estate administration and investment strategies.
- Minimum of three to five years' experience in trust and estate administration or relevant experience
- Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
- Typically, the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work
- Experience with tax and regulatory issues preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, Access, Accounting software
- Professional image and excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently
