Job summary
We are looking for a bright and friendly person to join our team on Wellington Ward at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Previous clerical experience in the health service would be desirable but not essential.
You should be a calm, organised and well-motivated person with a positive, mature and flexible approach to your work. The post involves contact with patients and their families, so good communication skills are vital, as is communication with the multi-disciplinary team.
This is a part-time position for 24 hours per week, which may include some weekends.
Main duties of the job
The Ward Clerk will have responsibility for administrative duties within the Ward / Unit. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring an optimum level of efficient clerical support to the nursing and medical staff in a timely and accurate manner.
He / she will have contact with patients, carers and all members of the multi professional team, as such he / she will provide front of house services for the Ward / Unit.
Other responsibilities will include handling of confidential information and ensuring patient notes are kept in locked trolleys.
Participation in patient experience initiatives.
