    POSITION PURPOSE

    Travel Oregon is seeking an experienced Grants Manager to lead and administer our competitive and matching grants programs, as well as other funding initiatives. In this role, you will use your cultural competence and exceptional communication skills to design and enhance our programs, ensuring they effectively support and uplift communities across the state.

    As the Grants Manager, you will:

    ●      Lead the development of program improvements and guidelines, making a meaningful impact on the success of our initiatives.

    ●      Deliver information to both internal and external stakeholders with clarity and precision.

    ●      Oversee the entire grants process, from application and review to awards, ensuring timely management of deadlines and payment schedules.

    ●      Track and manage projects from award disbursement through final reporting, documentation, and analysis, ensuring all requirements are met.

    Your role will be pivotal in strengthening Oregon’s tourism industry, fostering goodwill, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR DUTIES

    Program Administration

    ●      Lead in the ongoing development and improvement of the Competitive Grants program.

    ●      Ensure applicants comply with program requirements.

    ●      Communicate agreement terms to grantees/contractors.

    ●      Lead advisory team to ensure program is representative of partner and agency needs.  

    ●      Provide technical assistance on grant programs.

    ●      Develop and present grant trainings and info sessions.

    ●      Represent Travel Oregon at industry events and committees.

    Program Monitoring & Compliance

    ●      Ensure awardees comply with program requirements and monitor project progress.

    ●      Maintain accurate grant data and records.

    ●      Analyze financial reports and ensure funds are properly disbursed.

    Program Coordination

    ●      Coordinate grant review committees and manage communications with applicants.

    ●      Collaborate with the Communications team to promote grants and success stories.

    ●      Manage program milestones and tasks in the project management system.

    General

    ●      Participate in meetings and initiatives to support workplace culture and agency strategy.

    ●      Perform other duties as assigned, aligning with Travel Oregon’s values and commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    ●      Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Planning, Economic Development, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and training.

    ●      Four years of experience in progressively responsible positions in grant-making.

    ●      Cultural competence to design effective programs and communicate with diverse stakeholders.

    ●      Experience in planning and monitoring grant processes to meet strategic goals.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    ●      Experience in philanthropy, government, or nonprofit sectors.

    ●      Strong interpersonal communication skills across cultures.

    ●      Ability to capture and apply knowledge for continuous improvement.

    ●      Capability to represent the organization at senior levels.

    ●      Detail-oriented with excellent time management and the ability to handle competing priorities.

    ●      Strong analytical skills for reviewing documentation, data, and budgets.

    ●      Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.

    ●      Proficient in delivering presentations both online and in-person.

    ●      Strong writing and editing skills.

    ●      Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and opportunities.

    About Our Work Environment:

    This position is designated as hybrid. Business needs may require the employee to come into a designated workplace on a periodic basis. Our employees working in roles designated as hybrid or remote must reside in Oregon. Overnight travel, up to 15% of work time, is required in this position.

    Travel Oregon offers flexible schedules and telecommuting arrangements that meet the needs of the agency and our staff while aiming to balance that flexibility with the value of in-person collaboration and best serving our mission. As a semi-independent state agency, we feel strongly about cultivating and nurturing strong relationships, both across our workforce and with our many partners and stakeholders throughout the state. To support that aim, our employees working in roles designated as hybrid or remote must reside in Oregon.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    Starting Salary Range: $73,650-$88,400

    Benefits

    -       Accrual of 15 days paid vacation plus 3 days personal business leave and 12 days paid

    -       Sick leave; 11 paid holidays, 3 days paid volunteer leave, and available paid bereavement leave

    -       100% of health care premiums for core benefits (medical/dental/vision) for employee and family are paid by Travel Oregon

    -       Optional health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts (FSAs).

    -       After six full months of employment, participation in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), including generous Travel Oregon contributions with no employee match required; optional participation in a 403(b) account (Oregon Savings Growth Plan) is also available.
