Transplant Nurse Coordinator provides planning and coordination of all facets of clinical care for potential and actual transplant candidates and recipients. Manages referral, evaluation, and pre-transplant data for transplant patients and coordinates the clinical management of post-transplant patients. Being a Transplant Nurse Coordinator develops materials and delivers programs to educate and support patients, families, and clinicians throughout the transplant process. Requires clinical experience in the care and treatment of transplant patients. Additionally, Transplant Nurse Coordinator requires a bachelor's degree of Nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered nurse (RN). May require certification from a professional organ transplant nursing certification board. Summary:
Responsible for professional billing in the Baptist Health Heart Failure and Transplant Institute. Experienced with insurance verification, obtaining authorizations, coding/billing, and documentation. Works with patients and families on all financial issues for services/care we provide beginning with but not limited to the evaluation process of transplant and continuing through the transplant and post transplant phase. Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and CPT coding. Ability to capitalize on opportunities and manage associated coding and coding outcome risks. Assist with helping to set priorities, as appropriate. Will help to ensure minimal variation of coding practices and improve the quality of physician documentation. Understanding of coding ethics and compliance. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and billing procedures is a must. Performs all job duties as assigned.
