Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Marketing, Communications, and External Relations, the Vice President for Communications and Public Relations will lead a dynamic team of over 30 professionals spanning various departments. As a critical figure in the University's communications landscape, you will shape our public image, manage high-impact issues, and oversee strategic content creation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy across all university channels.
- Enhance the institution's visibility and reputation through proactive promotion.
- Mentor and manage a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Act as the primary spokesperson, particularly in managing high-risk public relations scenarios.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications or public relations, with a preference for higher education backgrounds.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, demonstrating a collaborative leadership style.
- Master's degree preferred in Communications, Journalism, Business Management, or related fields.
- Proficiency in managing complex communication challenges in high-stakes environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Salary range: $200,000 to $210,000.
