Top Foundation Executive develops and leads the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to board of directors or trustees. The Top Foundation Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Top Foundation Executive typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.   • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1.  Provides Humboldt Park Health’s Foundation with strong, creative, strategic leadership on its fundraising initiatives and set new, ambitious, but attainable goals to maintain and increase the number and size of major gifts.
    2. Provides vision and direction to build and manage a fundraising program, including major gifts, foundation relations, corporate sponsorships, annual giving, and stewardship; converting fundraising/programs results into tangible accomplishments.
    3. Develops the Foundation’s departmental budget and maintains appropriate financial and administrative controls to ensure donor privacy and compliance.
    4. Serves as a primary knowledge source for funding opportunities and strategy.
    5. Oversees growth, maintenance, and enhancement of the foundation’s donor database; manages internal fundraising and online, direct mail, and electronic systems; fosters innovation on the internet and with social media; optimizes the use of technology. Support and provide leadership and vision for the redesign of a new Foundation website.
    6. Manages and nurtures professional and support staff for the foundation office. Evaluates staff performance; develop a strong sense of teamwork and establish an environment of mentoring and support; foster a work ethic deeply rooted in innovation and commitment to excellence.
    7. High-level relationship manager with key donors, funders, and prospective donors.
    8. Takes full responsibility for the development and execution of fundraising events including:
    • Identify and work closely with event planners on all events
    • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms
    • Be present at all events to oversee and manage events & vendors
    • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
    • Establish a calendar of fundraising events with budgetary needs
    • Work closely with the Board of Directors on budget approvals, updates, and approval of vendors
    • Based on event analysis, feedback, and competitive intelligence, identifies opportunities to improve and enhance events

     Department Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

    •  Attends monthly board meetings for the HPH foundation
    • Attends networking events to foster relationships with current and future donors
    • Identify a minimum of 10 new corporate or foundation donors per quarter
    • Raise a minimum of $100,000 in new corporate or foundation donors per calendar year
    • Build and manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors 
    • Maintain and regularly reconcile a calendar of all reports due to foundations and other relevant funders.
    • Serves as liaison with internal department and vendors to inform and solicit donations
