Environmental Petroleum Testing Technician

  • DDS Environmental is an environmental compliance company that tests equipment associated with underground storage tanks (UST) at gas stations, schools, and government facilities. DDS is one of the leading environmental testing companies in the nation, providing testing services out of our many locations.

    We are currently hiring Unit Managers and Field Technicians. Unit Managers and Field Technicians test fuel storage tanks and related equipment on location. A typical workday is not always 8 hours and depends on the scope of work for each site. This includes testing overnight at some locations. Work history with fuels and job site safety protocols is desired. No experience is necessary to apply. All training is provided by the company.

    Qualified Candidates:

    • Able to work outside daily.
    • Climb and work off ladders and canopies.
    • Lift 90/100 lbs on occasion.
    • Communicate effectively and use fine motor skills.
    • Able to work independently.
    • Basic computer knowledge for data entry.
    • Must be willing to travel daily. Technicians not working near their homes may travel out of state for 3-4 weeks at a time. When traveling, technicians typically work 4 weeks while working 6 days/week, and then have a week off.
    • A clean driving record is required (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
    • All candidates must pass a background and drug/alcohol test.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Perform site assessments.
    • Conduct testing on fuel storage tanks, piping, and related equipment looking for leaks and equipment failures.
    • Analyze test results and problem solve when necessary.
    • Complete paperwork on company computer and communicate any on-site issues or findings to your supervisor.

    Company Benefits:

    • This is a salaried position and technicians are paid bi-weekly 12 months a year, even on weeks when they are not scheduled. No winter layoffs.
    • Training typically takes 3-4 months. After completing training, technicians are eligible for a pay increase.
    • Company supplied vehicle, tools, and testing equipment. Technicians need to be have a secure location to park their company vehicle when not working.
    • Travel accommodations including hotel and daily $40 per diem.
    • Cell phone reimbursement of $75 month.
    • Health insurance (medical, dental, vision), paid time-off, and sick days after 60 days.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
