  • Summary
    Assists E-Commerce Manager and operates e-commerce and computer store work area in absence of E-Commerce Manager to provide world-class customer service through the efficient management of assigned staff, donations, processing, stock rotation and sales. Properly maintains assigned department on various selling platforms and / or physical store front.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Analyzes online marketplaces and pricing strategies to ensure maximized profitability and sales with the lowest possible costs.
    • Leads assigned staff in absence of E-Commerce Manager.
    • Ensures compliance with established safety, security, sales, money handling, and record keeping procedures and practices as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures. Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to the Manager, Retail Operations, Loss Prevention and the Vice President of Donated Goods.
    • Executes routine social media selling events. Verifies that the quality and quantity of merchandise is adequate to obtain sales and production quotas.
    • Coordinates training of assigned staff and store staff to effectively identify collectable and/ or valuable merchandise.
    • Monitors shipments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to maintain satisfactory thresholds with various marketplaces.
    • Monitors and resolves customer service issues including but not limited to returns and disputes.
    • Ensures merchandise is priced in accordance with established standards.
    • Occasional travel is required for business related activities.
    • Must be able to respond to emergencies at any time as needed.
    • Reviews sellers’ information on shopgoodwill.com and all other marketplaces to ensure that it is compliant with requirements related to posting of items, description etiquette, and other criteria.
    • Implements and updates all standard operating procedures applicable to the E-commerce Department.
    • Attends meetings as required.
    • Complies with all agency policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout all work areas; maintains same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
    • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
    • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or sales reports.
    • Effectively write reports.
    • Effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and employees using tact, courtesy and cooperativeness. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.
    • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Compute rate, ratio and percent.
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Multi-task effectively; be able to adjust to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events; be flexible and/or adaptable as work requirements change.
    • Deal with a few abstract and concrete variables, exercising judgment, resourcefulness, ingenuity and initiative. Exercise discretion while managing confidential information.
    • Operate a Windows OS based computer.
    • Must have experience and sound working knowledge of material handling equipment and computers to include: Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Office, Excel), data based programs and internet.
    • Work effectively in a team-based environment; interact professionally with customers and a highly diverse employee base on a regular and routine basis.
    • Perform in this specialized field with these specific skillsets.
    • Obtain and maintain Forklift/Stacker and CPR/First Aid certifications.
    • Maintain a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation at all times and automobile insurance acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
    • Directly supervises the e-commerce team, program participants, volunteers and community service participants; performs work of subordinates as needed in absence of E-Commerce Manager.
    • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; maintaining a safe work environment; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    Education and Experience
    Two years of retail management experience with an emphasis on Customer Service; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in E-Commerce is preferred. Experience in social media marketing is preferred. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Business or related field preferred.
    Physical Demands
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, climb or balance, or smell. The employee is required to frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to and over 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

    Work Environment
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in adverse weather conditions. Employee may be exposed to dust, odors, extreme cold or heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
