Sr. Financial Analyst - Physician Services

  • Job Description:

    • Oversee the general accounting, financial, and statistical reporting functions of the Medical Group in line with established policies and accounting procedures.
    • Manage the physician compensation program within contract parameters.
    • Develop the annual budget for the Medical Group aligning with its short and long-term plans and those of the Health System.
    • Continuously evaluate and enhance internal controls within the Medical Group.
    • Provide training to subordinates in financial areas and monitor performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are met.
    • Collaborate with the VP of Physician Services and Hospital CFO in developing long and short-range operational plans, including service demand analyses and cost-benefit analyses.
    • Conduct cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses.
    • Assist in month-end closing procedures as required.
    • Monitor and analyze Medical Group financial performance against established plans and hospital objectives.
    • Identify and report on trends and potential business opportunities, making recommendations for action.
    • Direct the preparation of internal financial reports and work papers for the annual financial audit.
    • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports reflecting the hospital's financial position.
    • Lead initiatives to analyze and reduce Medical Group operating costs and increase revenues based on market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures.
    • Ensure timely submission of all financial data and associated reports required by government agencies, public disclosure reports, and third-party payer cost reports.
    • Analyze and implement cost accounting rules to accurately capture and maintain procedural costs for Medical Group operations.
    • Educate internal and external stakeholders on cost accounting methodologies and their appropriate usage.
    • Direct financial reporting and analysis using decision support data.
    • Collaborate with the VP of Physician Services and practice operations team on monthly operating report summaries.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and verbal, interpersonal, and quantitative skills typically acquired through completion of this degree.
    • CPA and/or master’s degree strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a senior financial executive in a medical group setting.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive management experience in an investor-owned healthcare organization.
    • Strong leadership skills with an approachable and team-player mentality.
    • Ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve optimal results while maintaining high employee satisfaction.

    Salary: $52,000 to $78,000
