    The qualified candidate will possess at a minimum:

    • Demonstrated board/volunteer development
    • Established fundraising experience
    • Prior experience with staff supervision and development
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or business related field required.
    • Three or more years of YMCA membership management and customer service preferred.
    • Ability to make solid relations and build on current collaborations with school partners and other community entities
    • Demonstrated skill in all areas of operational management, non-profit management preferred.

    SALARY: $60,000 - $65,000 annually

    The Branch Executive will oversee the total operation of the branch, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. This position will also oversee the association Sports, Gymnastics, Cheer and Ninja programs.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for supervision of Child Watch, Member Services, and Custodial staff. Responsible for supervision and leadership of branch Program Directors and supervisors (Personal Training, Sports, Gymnastics, Cheer and Ninja)

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Serve as role model to members and Y staff and, at all times lives the mission, vision and values of the YMCA movement.
    2. Responsible for all aspects of branch operations.
    3. Oversee operation of Sports, Gymnastics, Cheer, Dance and Ninja programs.
    4. Develop, model and integrate procedures and practices that encourage and sustain relationships with and among members/participants.
    5. Recruit, develop, direct and engage the branch volunteer advisory Board.
    6. Direct the financial development activities of the branch. Coordinate fundraising with advisory board, staff, members and volunteers. Coordinate campaign efforts with a volunteer campaign director.
    7. Develop, manage, and monitor the branch operating budgets and meet or exceed budget targets.
    8. Direct strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branches.
    9. Evaluate data on the effectiveness of member engagement/participation and ensure it is occurring on an on-going basis.
    10. Participate in association program Quality Teams.
    11. Work in conjunction with staff teams to continually improve member/participant engagement and experience. Equip staff with the on-going knowledge, skills and abilities to engage, support and involve members/participants.
    12. Continually monitor and assist in the process of program/service improvements and innovations that respond to the ever-evolving needs and interests of members, participants and health seekers.
    13. Attend community functions and events to promote the YMCA, including mission, programs and services.
    14. Ensure and provide effective communication of applicable information to members and staff. Oversee and ensure current information presented to the membership community within the facility. This includes but is not limited to, bulletin boards, newsletters, flyers, posters, banners, and calendars.
    15. Monitor and update the website in conjunction with the corporate office.
    16. Hire, train and supervise Child Watch, Member Services and Custodial staff.
    17. Assure facility and surrounding outdoor areas are clean, attractive and inviting in coordination with the Maintenance Director and President/COO.
    18. Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements.
    19. Adherence to all policies and procedures of the YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley.
    20. Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations including knowledge of emergency

    procedures and location of emergency equipment.

    1. Regular and timely adherence to respective schedule/meetings.
    2. All other duties as assigned by the COO.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Bachelor's Degree in business, recreation or other related field required.
    2. One or more years of management experience, preferably with a YMCA or non-profit.
    3. Prior experience in Sports and Gymnastics or program management preferred.
    4. Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.
    5. Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
    6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
    7. Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
    8. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

    CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. YMCA Leadership Certification preferred
    2. Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification*
    3. Mandatory Reporter*
    4. Must be able to pass background check

    *Note: If not currently certified, must obtain certification within 30 days of hire. All the above certification training programs are provided by the YMCA staff.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to talk and hear regularly. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, reach with arms and hands and lift up to 35 pounds of weight. The employee is often required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job includes close, distance and peripheral vision.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. This position usually works in an office environment, but the mission of the organization may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces. This position works a standard work week, but additionally will often work evening, weekend, and additional hours to accommodate activities (Board meetings, events, etc.) and provide support as needed.
