Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. JOB SUMMARY:
Candidate will be trained to operate CNC lathes and mills in a fast-paced production environment to manufacture parts correctly to meet finished product specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The candidate will be trained to:
Follow job orders, drawings, blueprints and other data, and then perform necessary machinist functions.
Learn knowledge of different steel, aluminum and plastic materials.
Learn the operation of the machines and procedures in meeting product specifications.
Learn a working knowledge of precision measurement equipment and tools.
Perform required daily machine maintenance.
Detect and report out of tolerance dimensions, defective materials and unusual conditions.
Perform a variety of other machining operations as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or higher.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent reading comprehension and solid math skills.
Knowledge of algebra, geometry and shop math is a plus.
Must have good dexterity, the ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 Lbs.
You must be eager and personable plus have your own transportation.
