What You'll Do

• Responsible for performing complete title examination and examine the chain of title primarily for commercial transactions
• Abstracts and analyzes records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books to determine ownership and legal restrictions, verify legal description of property and completeness of records
• Resolves most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory information contained in the title documentation
• Review title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines
• Prepares and reviews reports for accuracy
• May provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines
• Obtain document copies from county websites and imaging systems
• Perform online research
• Follow preestablished First American search and exam guidelines

• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all documents shown in the public records, knowledge of legal descriptions and the ability to read a legal description and plot it on a map
• Must be able to work well with others in a remote environment
• 3-5 years Commercial Title Exam Experience to include Mississippi
• College Degree Preferred But Not Required

Salary Range: $25.00 - $33.00 Hourly

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
