  • Duties

    • You will serve as a Telecommunications Manager in the Base Level Communications Planning Division (N51), Plans, Programs and Requirements Department (N5) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific (NCTAMS PAC).
    • You will serve as the Area Coordinator by planning and developing future, multiple and complex, major telecommunications projects to upgrade telecommunications systems at all Naval bases in the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
    • You will also serve as the manager for Naval telecommunications projects and the Naval resident expert for computerized digital switch systems in the AOR.
    • You will coordinate with all agencies and Military Departments (MILDEPs) in the Continental Unites States (CONUS) and the Pacific theater on issues pertaining to Naval telecommunication matters.
    • You will determine and establish organization, staffing and operational procedures and policies to accomplish the command’s telecommunications mission.
    • You will provide operating and policy guidance and interpretation.
    • You will promote and further the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program, ensuring equal treatment of all subordinates in all areas of work and personnel management.
    • You will serve as the Franchise Manager for the Cable Television Franchise Agreement for Naval bases in the AOR.
    • You will serve as the telecommunications officer for all Naval bases in the AOR and ensure compliance with applicable instructions and regulations promulgated by higher authority.
    • You will formulate the telecommunications policy for NMTAMS PAC and the command’s components.
    • You will represent the command on joint services and agency committees.
    • You will coordinate base system integration.
    • You will maintain exploit technological advances to ensure compatible integration of analog voice and digital data networks in order to maximize economical resources.

    Qualifications

    Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:

    -Experience providing expert technical and management support for the operation and maintenance of computerized digital telecommunications systems.
    -Experience developing short- and long-term system plans based on current and future operational requirements for telecommunication systems.
    -Experience preparing and presenting briefings to discuss status of new or changed requirements and technical parameters.
    -Experience directing and supervising division operations including staff and the execution of an annual budget.
