    Overview:

    Adventures in Writing Camp is looking for a n Assist Site Admin to join our on-site camp team. This energetic and experienced childcare provider will supervise our team of high-school and college aged staff, while providing excellent care and activities for our incoming 1st through 8th grade campers during the aftercare “SuperPlay” extended care portion of the camp day.

    What you’ll do...

    You will work closely with the camp’s Site Administrator to create an experience that engages and supports campers in the after-camp hours.

    You are responsible for designing activities and creating a schedule to cover the hours of 3pm to 6pm when campers are picked-up by parents and caregivers.

    You will have access to outdoor space as well as classrooms and you will have a supply budget depending upon the size of your group.

    You are responsible for finding and hiring qualified, responsible, fun-loving high-school and college students to assist you with supervision. You will have a camper to staff ratio of no more than 10:1.

    You are responsible for all staff communications, including setting the schedule and tracking hours worked of staff.

    Supervise and monitor the safety of children

    Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime

    Collect supplies (balls/craft materials) at the end of camp and return to the camp’s supply coordinator for re-use in the future.

    What we’re looking for...

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of 1 year in a supervisor positions.
    • Minimum of three years working with children in an elementary or middle school environment
    • Current First Aid CPR Certification (required for this position)
    • Proficient with Google Suite and other time and HR related software
    • Excellent communicator (with parents, staff, and Site Administrator)

    Time Commitment and Schedule

    You will be hired to work a two-week sessions. You may have the opportunity to work multiple sessions depending on location. Camps typically start in mid-June and conclude in mid August. Your hours are 10:30am-6pm.

    This is a stipend position. For each two-week session, you will dedicate time to hiring your team, planning your curriculum, communicating with staff, and providing supervised play for campers from 2pm to ~6:15pm daily.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • The pay is $160/day.
    • Temporary employee (non-benefited)
    • Paid sick leave is accrued at a rate of one hour per every thirty hours worked. Accrual begins on the first day of employment. Paid sick leave may be used beginning on the 90th day of employment.
    • If your own children are of camp-age, we offer significant discounts on camp programs.
    • Camps run starting in June through August - Cupertino has two sessions July 15-26 and July 29-August 9th
