Job Summary:

The Technical Writer will develop and revise technical documents, including user manuals, brochures, customer facing information. This role involves synthesizing information from subject matter experts to create comprehensive technical narratives from the perspectives of risk, compliance, manufacturing, and user experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, and manage all market-facing technical documents to ensure alignment across all applicable departments.
• Create and refine procedural documentation, such as user guides and manuals.
• Recommend the most suitable publication format for each project.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, compliance, marketing, and risk, to gather product, literature and product use process, and standards information.
• Engage with manufacturing and operations teams to understand product manufacturing processes.
• Work with the quality team to comprehend internal product testing and quality assurance processes. Observe process and audits content for accuracy and useability.
• Collaborate with the compliance team to understand regulatory standards and ensure proper documentation language.
• Collaborate with the legal team to ensure all collateral is reviewed and approved.
• Work with marketing and sales teams to ensure product language is accurate and consistent with cross-functional team agreements.
• Research product samples to gain a thorough understanding of the products.
• Assess audience needs and adjust the tone and technical terms for clarity and comprehension.
• Plan writing processes, set timelines, and meet deadlines as agreed upon by the internal team.
• Create or collaborate with graphic designers to produce diagrams, charts, and visual aids.
• Gather feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers to improve technical documents.
• Stay updated on industry trends to enhance technical communication and improve customer understanding.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent writing and grammatical skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text to an audience of various levels.

· Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently.

· Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

· Demonstrated experience with Adobe Suite- Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or similar software

· Have a team player attitude

Preferred Qualifications (If applicable):

· Experience with technical writing for a manufactured product.

· Experience with certifying bodies (NIOSH, NFPA, CSA, CE)

· Experience with standards (ISO, EN, ANSI, CSA, NFPA)

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as, Science, Engineering, or another technical field.

· 3-5 years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Pay: $67,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
