Provides employees with technical information beyond their ability to readily locate. Being a Technical Communicator serves as a liaison between the manufacturer and employee on technical problems encountered by the dealership. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Technical Communicator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. We are seeking a customer-focused candidate for a new role, Technical Communicator, at our Anchorage, Alaska branch.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Generate failure analysis reports.
Work directly with our customers and Caterpillar to generate a thorough failure analysis report. Communicate details of findings through regular communication with customers.
Focus will be on engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials, final drives, transfer gears, pump drives and hydraulic cylinders.
Responsible for assisting in nondestructive testing of components and training our technicians in proper use of nondestructive test tooling.
Interpret and explain Cat component assembly information and specifications.
Update Quality Control checklists for specific components.
Interpret oil sample results and investigate causes for “monitor” or “action required” sample results.
Install & operate Cat Diagnostic Tooling & analyze results.
Essential Qualifications & Experience Needed:
Diesel vocational certification or equivalent.
Vast knowledge of components to include engines, transmission, torque converters, differentials and final drives.
5 years’ experience in rebuilding components is preferred.
Familiarity with nondestructive test tooling and processes.
Ability to handle working in a fast-paced, stressful work environment.
Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
Willingness to travel as needed to present failure reports.
Strong Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Word and Excel experience.
