Position Overview: The Tax Supervisor is responsible for providing tax planning, consulting, compliance, and advisory services to a diverse base of individual, business, and non-profit clients. The position requires strong technical knowledge in diverse areas of taxation, including commercial, construction, non-profit, S-Corp, 1040, 1120, partnership, pass-through entities, private client services, and HNW. The position also requires a comprehensive knowledge of tax software, including CCH Engagement, ProSystems Fx, and K-1s. The Tax Supervisor must be proficient in tax research and have the ability to mentor and develop staff.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the tax department, including monitoring, scheduling, and supervising the work of staff.
- Provide tax planning, consulting, compliance, and advisory services to a wide variety of clients.
- Define, develop, and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Evaluate tax scenarios to identify potential issues and provide resolution.
- Conduct research to identify and analyze complex tax issues.
- Prepare tax returns for individual, business, and non-profit clients.
- Mentor staff on tax issues and advise on research strategies.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Participate in reviews and client engagements.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
- Familiarity with UHNW clients and their complex tax matters.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing team of staff.
