Tax Manager is responsible for managing the tax accounting staff and the tax planning, reporting, and compliance functions. Oversees the preparation of all tax filings and reporting in compliance with all required regulations. Being a Tax Manager evaluates the tax implications of company activities and develops strategies to minimize the tax obligations. Advises management on future changes to tax regulations and possible impact to the organization. Additionally, Tax Manager may manage and direct relationships with vendors and advisors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to Tax Director or Top Tax Executive. The Tax Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. American Tax Company is a tax preparation company that helps our clients with their tax returns. We are looking for a Tax Preparer to prepare and send tax returns. You will be responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns. A Tax Preparer must be well-organized and able to follow instructions. The goal is to prepare the most accurate and complete tax return.
Job Title: Tax Preparer
Duties:
- Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Review financial records, such as income statements and expense reports, to determine tax liabilities, as well as for completeness and accuracy
- Utilize accounting software to input and organize financial data
- Calculate and apply appropriate deductions, credits, and exemptions
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and answer tax-related questions and provide solutions
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain client confidentiality
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax returns
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Tax Preparer or in a similar role preferred
- Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Familiarity with public accounting practices and procedures
- Proficiency in using accounting software and 10-key typing as well as Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent math skills for accurate calculations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Good communication skills to interact with clients effectively
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
