Tax Director directs and oversees an organization's tax policies and objectives. Monitors reporting and planning to ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes. Being a Tax Director ensures accuracy of tax returns and works to minimize the organization's tax obligations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Tax Director typically reports to top management. The Tax Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Tax Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     • Assist customers in gathering, organizing, and entering data in federal and state tax returns for review
    • Schedule customer meetings and follow-up when needed, carefully documenting customer interactions
    • Minimum of three (3) seasons of tax preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 tax returns prepared
    • Prior tax preparation experience in a tax practice or retail setting
    • College degree a plus, but not required
    • Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts and familiarity with the form 1040 and all schedules
    • PTIN is required (can be obtained online)
    • Willingness to utilize audio/visual tools to communicate with customers
    • Strong problem solving and research skills, and the ability to quickly use online resources to find answers
    • Well-developed technical troubleshooting skills
