Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation and compliance, with a focus on individual and small business tax returns.
This role requires excellent analytical skills, a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, S corps and LLCs.
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to minimize clients' tax liabilities.
- Assist with IRS and state tax audits, including gathering documentation and communicating with tax authorities.
- Provide clients with timely and accurate responses to tax-related inquiries.
- Maintain and organize tax records and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive tax services and support.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other accounting tasks as needed.
- Some bookkeeping
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on tax practices and laws.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- CPA and/or EA certification required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting principles and federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- 4 years of tax preparation experience with 1040s, 1065s, 1120S, and 1120, both federal and state filing necessary
- Experience assisting clients with payroll
- Proficient with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office Suite, UltraTax (or any tax prep software), Airtable a plus
- Tech savvy with the ability to learn about and adapt to new software and technologies
- Must be comfortable and confident working in a client facing role working with multiple clients directly
- Well-organized with good time management skills and the ability to juggle many moving pieces
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
