What You'll Do
The position of Production Control Analyst provides production planning for the Manufacturing and Quality organizations at Y12. Centered on the programmatic requirements, the production processes, and includes the development of specific production plans, capacity models, load profiles for labor and equipment, operational standards and estimates, and product yield factors. Utilizes capacity models and load profiles (critical equipment and labor) to analyze the ability to commit new work scope to existing production loads. Provides interface to equipment maintenance so that critical equipment is available for use. Provides technical leadership through manufacturing process analysis, data analysis and measurement of operational effectiveness. Provides technical leadership of productivity improvement initiatives associated with production activities throughout assigned areas. Responsible for determining available labor and equipment by area for assignment to production tasks. Production schedules must be analyzed to determine whether assigned areas can meet production goals with existing resources. A production plan is developed that best meets diverse programmatic needs with the production resources available. Plans are integrated amongst areas, and baseline plans are developed and maintained. Recovery plans are developed as necessary to meet deliverables. Develops Manufacturing and Quality process flow diagrams in order to analyze the capability to meet required deliverables for the assigned area. Determine equipment and labor requirements as well as the interrelationships for performing programmatic tasks. Develops operational standards as well as labor and equipment estimates to analyze the ability of manufacturing to meet programmatic requirements. Applies Lean Manufacturing principles to maximize productivity and minimize lost time. Industrial Engineering principals and methods are used to determine bottlenecks and opportunities for improving throughput. Develop metrics for both programmatic and operational effectiveness in meeting planned tasks. Maintain detailed metrics as well as senior-management metrics. Brief Program and Production managers when production deliverables are at risk.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
