The Director, System Administration oversees the day-to-day technical activities related to maintaining a reliable and effective environment by providing direction and leadership to System Administrators and Developers of the ERP Financial Suite, Human Resources and Payroll Systems, Capitol Asset Management, , UKG Timekeeping System, UKG Telestaff Scheduling system, CoreCivicNet applications, Realtime Network Applications (Keytracer, BioSecurity, AssetTracer, and Key Exit), application plugins, and related application interfaces. Responsible for scheduling of team members and working with the Program Management Office in monitoring project schedule tasks.
- Supervises staff in the performance of their duties and evaluates as prescribed by company policy. This includes training new employees, evaluating performance and preparing written performance reviews, listening to complaints and effectively resolving disputes or issues, taking corrective or disciplinary action, developing work schedules for staff and approving leave requests.
- Leads and participates in technology projects in accordance with PMO methodology, including management of resource schedules, priorities, and timelines.
- Supervises and participates in ongoing maintenance of application related server environments.
- Assists management in developing and adhering to the annual budget for equipment, training, resource, and service needs.
- Develops and maintains a program of proactive system administration, including but not limited to updates, patches, fixes, system enhancements, system and process documentation, log monitoring as well as system backup and recovery.
- Ensures availability of supported systems through effective management of team members and response to trouble tickets is both timely and accurate.
- Maintains relationships with customer departments and ensures all support is provided in the context of assisting application users succeed in their business goals.
- Stays aware of software vendors update and maintenance schedules, whether on-premise or cloud solutions.
- Communicates to our internal customers concerning planned upgrades, maintenance, and outages.
- Stays up to date on application updates, trends, and technologies.
- Ensures that applications and procedures are in compliance with CoreCivic security policies, NIST 800-53 standards, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
- Domestic U.S. travel may be required
