Job Description:
New-Com is seeking a System Administrator with a keen eye for monitoring and maintaining systems to ensure optimal performance and availability. This role is critical for our infrastructure, focusing on hardware, software, and network components. The successful candidate will be adept at troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving a variety of technical issues, enhancing our system's reliability and efficiency. You will be instrumental in installing hardware, operating systems, and software packages, ensuring seamless operation and user satisfaction. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Apply standard System Administration practices to develop, prepare, and recommend system requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, software, and related peripherals.
- Ensure system connectivity and monitor system performance, making adjustments as necessary.
- Load, verify, and assist in the correct operation of software packages including operating systems and applications.
- Provide training and technical assistance to users, enhancing their understanding and efficient use of systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex system operational problems.
- Gather and compile IT data for system optimization and troubleshooting purposes.
- Perform equipment and system tests to identify and correct failures, ensuring system reliability.
- Assist in evaluating equipment or system requests for appropriateness and feasibility.
- Operate within and contribute to the efficiency of the IT ticketing system.
Technical Skills and Qualifications:
- CompTIA A Certification or 2 years of equivalent work experience in the IT field.
- Ability to obtain CompTIA Security Certification within 12 months.
- Demonstrated skills in managing systems, networks, hardware, and software.
- Basic knowledge of enterprise/desktop printer management and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of an enterprise domain environment.
- Must qualify for and maintain US Government TS/SCI level security clearance. US citizenship required.
- Current state-issued driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA A , Network , and Security Certifications.
- 2 years of work experience in the Information Technology field.
- Demonstrated technical competence in system and network management.
- Entry-level knowledge of printer management, Microsoft Office application management, and enterprise domain environments.
