Surveillance Operations Manager manages and directs the surveillance department. Organizes routine random surveillances and audits surveillance as required. Being a Surveillance Operations Manager ensures compliance with gaming requirements set by state gaming authority and local law enforcement. Works with security team to resolve problems and disturbances. Additionally, Surveillance Operations Manager may require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Surveillance Operations Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Surveillance Operations Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and managing surveillance operations by participating in the observation and recording of gaming activity to help safeguard Company assets and provide a safe environment for guests and team members. Ensures adherence to all regulatory agencies, Internal Control Standards, departmental and company policies and procedures. Support and maintain the Hard Rock’s Service Standards at all times, while promoting outstanding guest relations.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible for the supervision of surveillance employees.
    • Ensure that reports, logs, and video files are maintained.
    • Report all observations and recordings of irregular activities to the Director - Surveillance.
    • Demonstrate competencies knowledge of operations policies and procedures.
    • Observe closed circuit TV monitors.
    • Team player with the ability to analysis and implement solutions.
    • Oversee the strategic management of the surveillance dept. hiring, training, payroll, department budget, assigning, directing work, disciplining employees, and interviewing.
    • Utilize the necessary surveillance equipment to respond, identify, record and questionable activities.
    • Responsible for finding any irregularities on the Casino floor including cheating activities, pilferage, or embezzlement.
    • Safeguard company assets.
    • Keep surveillance logs on a 24-hour basis.
    • Perform work regularly and adheres to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.


    Non-essential Job Functions

    Attend seminars when needed.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

    This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree (BA), a minimum of five to seven years gaming experience and three to five years’ casino surveillance experience along with a significant knowledge in casino operations. Minimum three years supervisory or management experience required.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

    • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
    • Must successfully pass background check.
    • Must successfully pass drug screening.
    • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
    • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
    • Prior experience in the Gaming industry required.


    Knowledge Of

    • Knowledge of a 24-hour, 7 days a week gaming operation.
    • Knowledge of industry’s most sophisticated surveillance equipment, knowledge of gaming industry and normal trends in losses, ability to recognize and monitor suspicious activities of team members and guests.
    • Knowledge of gaming scams in order to foresee and defray losses to the company, knowledge of monitoring techniques and ability to network with other gaming corporations and discuss surveillance activities.
    • Must possess excellent management, administrative, organizational and leadership abilities.


    Ability To

    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Excellent learning aptitude is required as the candidate may be required to satisfactorily complete a surveillance assessment test, training in surveillance operations and equipment, casino operations.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Interpret and explain policies and procedures.
    • Observe and direct actions of subordinates/trainees.
