Direct strategic planning for MU Health Care and the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Collaborate with a matrixed and cross-disciplinary team to develop and deliver innovative and customized planning and facilitation services. Play a key role in driving alignment of strategy across the health system entities and departments, communication of strategy to all levels of the organization, and execution according to plan.

SALARY RANGE$99,174 - $161,720

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Design and direct the process and development of the MU Health, MU Health Care, and the School of Medicine strategic plans to include the establishment of a framework, ongoing process, meeting cadence, and schedule for the annual strategic planning cycle. Create a multi-year, public-facing written plan and an internal working document for each health system entity.
• Coordinate the implementation of strategic planning projects that involve various entities within MU Health. Drive accountability to plan by working closely with the Finance and Business Intelligence teams to make progress measurable, setting critical metrics, and establishing ongoing reporting. Update and monitor implementation and achievement of objectives against the strategic plan regularly.
• Provide strategic context-setting across the organization, including translation of system-level strategy to entity, service line level, and department operational leaders to ensure alignment of strategy at all levels. Partner with internal communications to ensure strategies are effectively communicated to stakeholders and consistently interpreted and implemented horizontally and vertically.
• Provide consultative and facilitation services to the leadership of service lines, departments, and other entities. This entails directing planning projects, including conceptualization and design; assisting with establishing vision, goals, and objectives; facilitating meetings and planning activities; and preparing deliverables to include action plans. Bring new facilitation and planning tools, techniques, and processes to ensure our work remains fresh and innovative.
• Participate in a project management role with consultants for strategic planning as well as merger, acquisition, and affiliation projects. Partner with leadership on Requests for Proposal (RFP) processes, including the creation, submission, and evaluation of RFPs, providing advisement, technical expertise, and decision support to leadership.
• May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in health administration, business administration, public health, or a related field.

Five (5) years of experience working in health care, public health, or community-based organizations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in communications, facilitation, or project management.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
