Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal jobs in Arkansas
Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal aids hospital staff and physicians in the care of patients with stomas, draining wounds, fistulae, incontinence, or potential or actual tissue trauma. Manages patients with post-operative surgical wounds requiring packing or negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), pressure ulcers and vascular ulcers. Being an Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal provides support and education to patients and their families, including pre and post-operative teaching, wound care, ostomy care, and ostomy appliance maintenance/trouble-shooting. Requires a RN license and typically requires CWOCN, CWS, or CWCA certification. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position: Stepdown
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient pain relief and sedation by providing pharmacological and non-pharmacological intervention, monitor patient response and record care plans accordingly.
- Work with EKG monitor technicians to evaluate and interpret EKG strips.
- Interpret laboratory results and cardiac tests, and proactively educate patients in health promotion and disease prevention.
- Initiate intravenously therapy, administer medications, provide care for post-operative open-heart patients and post cardiac catheter patients.
- Maintain responsibility for clinical activities of all nurses caring for patients assign, prepare annual evaluations on all nurses assign.
Certifications - Required
AHA BLS - Basic Life Support Certificate
AHA ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate
AHA PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support CertificateEducation - Required
Graduate of accredited Nursing program
Experience - Required
1 - 2 year Acute Care Experience and/or experience congruent with role in service line
