Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room jobs in Arkansas
Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides professional nursing care to assigned post-operative patients. Monitors vital signs, administers medications, including intravenous medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with surgeons and anesthesiologists. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides support to patients waking up from anesthesia, including bandage maintenance, pain management, nausea treatment, and ensuring patients receive adequate rest, fluids and nutrients. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room teaches patients how to clean bandages, take medication, and follow post-surgical care instructions. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Location: Arkansas
Position: Stepdown
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient pain relief and sedation by providing pharmacological and non-pharmacological intervention, monitor patient response and record care plans accordingly.
- Work with EKG monitor technicians to evaluate and interpret EKG strips.
- Interpret laboratory results and cardiac tests, and proactively educate patients in health promotion and disease prevention.
- Initiate intravenously therapy, administer medications, provide care for post-operative open-heart patients and post cardiac catheter patients.
- Maintain responsibility for clinical activities of all nurses caring for patients assign, prepare annual evaluations on all nurses assign.
Certifications - Required
AHA BLS - Basic Life Support Certificate
AHA ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate
AHA PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support CertificateEducation - Required
Graduate of accredited Nursing program
Experience - Required
1 - 2 year Acute Care Experience and/or experience congruent with role in service line
