Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Geriatric promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. REGISTERED NURSE GERIATRIC BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
Geriatric Behavioral Health is an 18 bed locked unit that cares for patients 55 with behavioral health and dementia related conditions. Acuity varies, and the department welcomes new grads. No call, no rotating shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY:
A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. They act as a liaison between physicians, patient and family, and collaborates with other health care members. They assist in the orientation process of new personnel, and may participate in health center and department committees. The staff nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by Ohio State Board of Nursing.

Certification as a Mental Health Nurse is preferred.
