Shipping Operations Manager manages shipping operations' daily activities, including order processing, inventory tracking, documentation, and transportation oversight. The Revenue Manager functions as the strategic business leader of Revenue Management and is accountable for pricing, positioning and inventory of all products within the market. Develops processes to analyze demand, revenue, inventory, trends, competitor pricing, forecasting and opportunity to make informed decisions on pricing strategies in order to grow revenue and increase profitability. Acts as primary contact for and maintains productive relationships with all stakeholders including senior leaders in Lodging, Sales, Marketing, Core Business Owners, and the Alterra Revenue Management team. This position is not remote and is required to be on-site at Schweitzer. PRINICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead weekly, monthly, and yearly processes to set overall pricing strategies, base prices, and yield plans; including facilitating the analyses and discussion with senior leadership. Creates annual lodging and lift revenue and visit budget along with the strategic pricing plan to reach resort revenue targets. Assists in forecasting. Works closely with the Regional Director of Revenue Management and Resort Senior Leadership Team to implement centralized guidance and provide information to Corporate Alterra Mountain Company as requested. Fosters a data-driven decision-making environment and shares best Revenue Management practices with peers, Corporate, and other departments. Uses productivity software, business intelligence applications, complex spreadsheets and analytical tools to analyze trends, future need periods, opportunities for promotions and communicates recommendations to appropriate stakeholders to accomplish brand/market objectives and initiatives conforming to the company’s business goal; including reviewing competitive shopping data to help influence recommended dynamic pricing changes. Implements new programs for Business Intelligence to improve efficiency in collecting data and sharing data across departments. Serves as a point of contact for Business Operations (I.T.) to ensure proper set up of products and pricing and with Marketing/Sales for pricing questions, promotions and offerings to go out to market. Continually review existing reporting and analytics to ensure metrics are meaningful, relevant, efficient, and instill executive-level confidence in the Revenue Management process. Manages a Yield Management system (Inntopia YieldView, Aspenware and Duetto RMS) and oversees its proper use to optimize sales strategies (rate parity, blackout calendar, inventory, restrictions, deposit & cancel policies, etc.) in all distribution channels and inventory systems. Provides all reporting and analysis to assist revenue management, hospitality and senior leadership in understanding pacing, market mix, trends, and opportunities AdHoc analysis as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. Prior experience in Revenue Management a significant plus, including certification in Revenue Management. 3-5 years of experience within the travel/hospitality industry preferred. Experience within the ski industry is a significant plus, including front-line guest relations experience. Excellent understanding of Revenue/Yield Management Concepts, Distribution and Market Dynamics. Ideal candidate will be self-confident, energetic, detail-oriented, a self-starter, proactive in reaching goals, and possess the ability to identify opportunities and act upon them. Must be a team player with great communication and presentation skills. Must possess excellent analytical skills, knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros, dynamic graphs, conditional formatting, lookup references, data filters, etc.), and ability to summarize complex concepts for executive leadership (eg turning data into visuals to tell the story). Prior experience with ski industry Siriusware point-of-sale systems, Inntopia YieldView, Aspenware, Power BI, Duetto RMS and SMS PMS capabilities a plus.
