Job Summary- Package, coordinate and track orders using FedEx, UPS and LTL carriers domestically and internationally. Assisting with warehouse maintenance and warehouse operations.
- Tracks delivery progress of shipments.
- Determines method of shipment and prepares bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
- Estimates freight or postal rates and records shipment costs and weights.
- Keeps records of all goods shipped, received, and stored.
- Examines shipment contents and compares with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
- Checks import or export documentation to determine cargo contents and use tariff coding system to classify goods according to fee or tariff group.
- Negotiates and arranges transport of goods with shipping or freight companies.
- Installs straps, braces, and padding to loads to prevent shifting or damage during shipment.
- Arranges insurance coverage for goods.
- Directs or participates in cargo loading to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight.
- Coordinates and supervises activities of workers engaged in packing and shipping merchandise.
- Routes received goods to appropriate storage areas or departments, using forklifts, hand trucks, or other equipment.
- Contacts vendors or claims adjustment departments to resolve shipment problems or contact service depots to arrange for repairs.
- Maintains a clean and organized warehouse.
- Helps with production as needed to expedite orders.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 1-2 years' experience as a shipping clerk preferred
