Shipping and Receiving – Job Description
This position is located in Las Vegas, NV and will work on site, full-time.
Summary
Shipping personnel work in and around shipping and dock area where pallets of rolls and sheets are staged for packaging. Work involves applying cardboard corners, plastic covering, applying tape and using strapping material with tensioner and crimping device. Pallets are shrink wrapped using automated shrink wrap unit. Use of scanning device to record material and generate proper paperwork. Forklift is used to move pallets from each work station and to staging area for placement into inventory or placed on trucks.
Table saw and pneumatic staple gun used in the making of wood pallets. Handling 4 to 5 2X4 or 1X6 pieces of lumber from stack to saw table. Weighing eight pounds each.
Shipping personnel will lift and handle items weighing from 8 lbs. – 40 lbs. (30 to 50 times a day) and use force to squeeze tensioner and crimp sealer up to 250 times a day.
