Qualifications: Valid Indiana Administrative License
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in education
Competent in all facets of secondary education
Possess knowledge in all statutes and regulations affecting staff hiring, evaluation, and
termination
Cognizant of federal statutes, school law, and state regulations affecting instructional
and extracurricular programs
Expertise in evaluating and revising instructional programs and teaching methodologies
Skilled in communication, collaboration, and the use of participatory leadership and
group dynamics
Skilled in the effective implementation of Professional Learning Communities
Responsibilities: The principal is directly responsible to the Superintendent
Make reports to the superintendent and board as required
Direct school improvement efforts
Continually work to improve curriculum, instruction, and student achievement
Supervise and maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment for students and staff
Appraise and evaluate the work of all certified staff according to established timelines
and procedures
Evaluation of non-instructional personnel
Maintain favorable public relations and relations with the community
Make recommendations regarding the purchase of equipment and supplies, building
maintenance, and improvement
Responsible for interviewing and recommending new personnel for the building to the
superintendent
Responsible for recommending the termination of employees performing at an
unacceptable level
Oversee the school breakfast/lunch program, the school athletic program, and all of
of the school extracurricular activities
Supervise the proper maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds
Administer the budget for the building
