Position purpose: The Estimating and AutoCAD Specialist will create AutoCAD drawings and professional, updated DWG files that will be supplied to customers, read blueprints and technical documents, and prepare estimates for upcoming projects. The Estimating and AutoCAD Specialist will identify and quantify cost factors such as production time and raw material, equipment and labor expenses. The Estimating and AutoCAD Specialist will prepare quotes for Damper and door repairs, UVC installation and any other services.

 Starting pay rate: $25/hr

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Produce full and thorough quotes in response to customer or sales request.
• Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting activities
• Ability to reviews inspection report and develop repair quotes.
• Prepares bill of materials associated with project estimates
• Evaluates a project’s cost effectiveness and profitability
• Ensures all aspects of the project specifications are incorporated into the project estimate
• Works with the Regional Account Representatives, Clients, Engineers and other stakeholders in preparation of the estimate
• Recommends ways to make projects more cost effective or profitable
• Should understand the functionality and parts that goes into every service
• Maintains and updates the materials pricing log in timely manner
• Creates AutoCAD drawings, door schedules for customers’ projects
• Creates and modifies maps for special assignments
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

• Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• AutoCAD software and Blueprints takeoff experience
• Ability to review estimates for completion and technical accuracy ensuring quality and integrity
• Well organized, able to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Detailed-oriented with the ability to focus on quality and accuracy
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Good IT, written and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to continuous learning
• Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings
• Experience in pricing passive fire protection & fire door installations would be hugely advantageous
