    Summary

    The Risk Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting risk management initiatives within the Enterprise Risk Management organization. This includes projects that may be complex and/or involve bank-wide impact across all risk categories as well as, responsibilities to support risk administration and operations. They support various stakeholders including senior risk officers, leadership, and business line managers to assess, monitor, and report on risk-related activities and requirements. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while fostering a risk-aware culture. This role requires initiative, judgment, and the application of foundational risk management skills for the position. The role requires an ability to resolve problems independently as well as collaborate with leaders, colleagues, and stakeholders on the most complex issues. This individual is responsible for fostering a strong risk culture between the lines of defense.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Support the facilitation of risk governance and operational risk management activities.
    • Collaborate with business units to collect and assess risk data.
    • Support relevant ERM risk reporting requirements.
    • Compile and distribute risk management reports.
    • Support risk governance and/or operational risk management through various risk related activities and requirements.
    • Support senior management with integrating risk management within the strategic management process.
    • Coordinate risk assessments across the organization to obtain an enterprise-wide view of risk.
    • Contribute to the development and communication of risk management policies and limits.
    • Collaborate with business line managers to collect and assess risk data, monitor risk performance, evaluate exposures to potential future events, and compile and distribute risk management reports.
    • Develop, edit, and generate documents using software programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and presentations.
    • Organize and coordinate department functions as requested.Perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three to five years of banking and administrative support experience preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to interface in person and via telephone. Must have the ability to work independently and to prioritize projects/responsibilities. The position requires flexibility, as priorities change and as needs arise to assist other department colleagues. Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail are required.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to handle client inquiries, concerns and complaints in a polite and effective manner. Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to compute ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
