Right of Way Agent jobs in Minnesota

Right of Way Agent prepares organization's need for additional land or office space. Researches, negotiates and elects to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction that meet the organization's goals. Being a Right of Way Agent handles all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Agent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Right of Way Agent contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     The Senior Right of Way Agent position is to oversee and work alongside a team of Right of Way Agents in the assistance of landowner and permit agency negotiations for the acquisition of real estate right-of-way.

    Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

    • Managing and working alongside a team of Right of Way Agents
    • Ensuring client enforces deadlines are met by the Right of Way Team.
    • Leading project management oversight from initial assignment to completion, formulating project logs

    and preparing reports and special studies as needed.

    • Lead/supervise negotiations with property owners and agencies and personally negotiate when

    required.

    • Conduct title abstracting in court houses.
    • Direct relocation advisory
    • Represent company and client at public hearings when required. May present testimony as an expert

    witness in court appeals.

    • Any other task as assigned.

    Qualifications & Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience preferred
    • Supervisory/managerial experience preferred
    • Demonstrated good judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills building and engaging rapport with internal and external clients along

    with the ability resolve problematic resolution issues quickly and efficiently.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to all levels across the company and external clients

    including the ability to write clearly and succinctly and in a manner that is clear to a wide audience.

    • Ability to interpret and analyze complex/detailed data, including legal descriptions, appraisals and

    engineering maps/drawings.

    • Positive can-do attitude and resolution orientation and willingness to engage in a collaborative process.
    • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite
