Revenue Accountant jobs in Colorado

Position: Revenue Accountant (Staff Level)

Location: Boulder, CO (3 days in office / 2 days from home)

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate revenue data, including sales, contracts, and billing information.

• Perform monthly revenue reconciliations and prepare revenue-related journal entries.

• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, contributing to accurate financial reporting.

• Assist in the implementation and improvement of revenue recognition processes and controls.

• Analyze and review revenue contracts and agreements to assess revenue recognition impact.

• Provide timely and accurate revenue-related information for internal and external audits.

• Assist in the preparation of revenue forecasts and budgets, working closely with the finance team.

• Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting projects as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to revenue recognition.

• Experience in the software industry is a plus but not required.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.

• CPA certification or progress towards it is a plus.
