Retail Tire Service Manager jobs in Maryland

Retail Tire Service Manager manages the service staff to effectively meet customer requirements and minimize tire service related expenses. Assigns jobs within the service center and dispatches road and fleet service according to customer requests or established requirements. Being a Retail Tire Service Manager makes recommendations for hiring, firing and disciplining of service techs. Trains service technicians and conducts new hire orientation; schedules other training as required. Additionally, Retail Tire Service Manager ensures that company policies are being followed with regard to safety, DOT and established operating procedures. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a store manager. The Retail Tire Service Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Retail Tire Service Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     • Responsible for Road Service Call Center calls and managing all outside PM s and repairs.
    • Establish and monitor department KPI s and individual metrics continual improvement in productivity and customer service.
    • Review and approve high value and/or major repair estimates to ensure suggested repairs meet acceptable industry standards and that all applicable manufacture warranties have been applied.
    • Review Road Service work orders to ensure billing and task coding is accurate to all G/L accounts.
    • Monitor, on a daily basis, all inside and outside repairs while in process or post repair to capture unapplied warranties.
    • Analyze tire problems and advise customer as to solutions.  
    • Perform tasks to service employees in accordance with customer needs and employee skills.  
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
    • Ensure adherence to all OSHA, and DOT safety regulations.  

    OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Other duties can and will arise, and candidate should be prepared to take on these challenges openly.

    REQUIREMENTS
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment.
    • Must be able to work independently and also in a team environment doing other job duties as assigned.
    • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours and infrequent travel.
