Respiratory Therapy Director jobs in Nebraska

Respiratory Therapy Director directs the programs and staff of the respiratory therapy department. Oversees the provision of diagnostic, treatment, and educational services for patients with respiratory disorders. Being a Respiratory Therapy Director develops and implements respiratory care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Additionally, Respiratory Therapy Director manages departmental budgets and reports, and maintains department records and statistics. Requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires Registered Respiratory Therapist. The Respiratory Therapy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Northwest Respiratory Services is seeking for an experienced Per Diem Respiratory Therapist, RN, or LPN to help support our office in Omaha NE and the surrounding area. Northwest Respiratory Services is a leading provider of oxygen and respiratory products throughout the Midwest and Rockies. We specialize in serving the long-term care community and oxygen dependent Veterans. The ideal candidate would be someone looking to pick up extra hours occasionally on a needed basis. You will apply your unique skill set and experience to home care and skilled nursing facility environments by setting patients up, providing comprehensive instruction, follow up and ongoing support of high technology modalities.

    In-house training on Northwest Respiratory Services equipment will occur upon hire.

    Compensation:

    • Hourly rate
    • Mileage reimbursement
    • Eligible to participate in 401K program

    Job Duties:

    • Deliver, set up and provide instruction of home medical equipment to include: oxygen concentrators, liquid oxygen systems, BiPAP, CPAP, overnight and continuous oximetry, humidity systems, suction and pediatric set ups
    • Provide routine equipment maintenance, instruction of proper use, safety, cleaning and continuing education to clients
    • Schedule and conduct staff in-services of respiratory equipment to skilled nursing facilities as requested
    • Serve as a resource to referrals, physicians, clients and NRS staff; Assist with troubleshooting of equipment
    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Current RT/RN/LPN License in the state of Branch location and in other state(s) as required based on territory served
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to pass a motor vehicle records check, and drug test
    • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Home care experience is preferred
