This position reports directly to the Associate Executive Director (solid line) and Resident Life Director (dotted line) and is service and supervisory in nature.

    The Catered Living Supervisor is tasked with ensuring resident satisfaction and contributing to the overall success of the community. Supervision of Catered Living includes cultivating a vibrant and enriching living environment, building strong relationships with residents and their families, and supervising a dedicated team. This includes providing services according to professional standards, policies, and procedures of Covenant Living Communities and Services.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Operational:
    Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, and processes. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining confidentiality and following HIPPA guidelines, and complying with the Resident Bill of Rights at all times.
    Provide comprehensive orientation for new residents in Park Manor, involving department managers as appropriate.
    In partnership with the Resident Life Director, develop and implement a variety of engaging social and recreational activites for Catered Living Residents.
    Identify and suggest opportunities to improve program efficiency and resident satisfaction.
    Maintain program within prescribed guidelines of the approved budget and resource allocation.
    Promote and maintain good, strong relationships and communication with residents, families, and staff.
    Address resident concerns and feedback promptly.
    Coordinate and monitor contracted resident services, such as personal care, companion care, and escort services.
    Assist in facilitating inter-facility transfers involving Catered Living.
    Maintain records, statistics, and files essential to the operation of the Catered Living program.
    Participate with marketing department and administration regarding promotional events.
    Arrange for the provision of services to meet the needs of each resident. This is done by coordinating with appropriate departments to ensure maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, activity, dietary, medical and transportation needs are met, as well as other services as needs arise.
    Report to designated nurse about participation and engagement with activities.
    Advocate for residents’ needs and interests.

    Supervision of Staff:
    Participate with HR in recruitment and hiring of staff. Provide department orientation.
    Supervision of Program Aides.
    Along with management, support a culture of continuous learning and professional development for the staff. This includes, but is not limited to:
    ensuring ongoing organizational training is completed by the staff in a timely manner,
    encourage staff participation in ongoing in-service education programs,
    keep current on changes in the industry, particularly on services for seniors, and
    identify areas where team members may benefit from additional training.
    Create staff schedules to meet the expectations of the program.
    Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
    Assist with the completion of performance evaluations, team member feedback, and disciplinary actions. Provide ongoing feedback to the staff.
    Provide backup as a Program Aide, as needed

    Building and Grounds:
    Maintain a safe and secure environment for our residents.
    Ensure cleanliness and organization of the public areas.
    Ensure the building is in acceptable operating condition.
    Any deficiencies are reported appropriately.

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
    Required Degree : High school education or equivalent
    Preferred Degree : Minimum of two years education beyond high school in the area of human services, gerontology, social sciences or healthcare related fields. Bachelor degree preferred.

    Experience:
    Minimum of two years experience working with older adults in a social or healthcare field.
    Two years of experience in management or supervision of staff.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
    Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
    Basic computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software programs.
    Excellent skills in organization, relationships, motivation and leadership.
    Passion for serving older adults and creating a positive environment for them.
    Ability to demonstrate punctual and consistent hours as scheduled.

    PHYSICAL and OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
    This position is located in a well-lighted environment and requires mobility within Catered Living and throughout the community.
    This position requires light physical effort, lifting and carrying of lightweight materials not normally exceeding 50 pounds.
    Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time throughout the day.
    Manual dexterity.
    May be exposed to unpleasant conditions and is at risk of exposure to potentially infectious material as part of the routine job functions. This includes potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
    Must have reliable transportation.
