Summary/objective— The Residential Director is responsible for the 24 hour care of students. This position will continuously assess staff and student culture to minimize incidents, increase safety/security and create/maintain an environment for growth and progress. As part of the administrative leadership team, you will create strategic objectives and goals that are in alignment with company strategy and goals. Additionally, ensure that the residential department works synergistically with HR, Admissions and the clinical and academic teams. Oversee and manage systems for providing training for all residential staff.
Essential functions—
1. Supervise male and female Program Coordinators, Lead Shift Supervisors, Shift
Supervisors, Mentors, Milieu Trainer and Chef
a. Oversee hiring of residential staff
b. In collaboration with the Milieu Trainer, oversee training and certifications
i. Facilitate Mentor Responsibilities and Trainings
ii. Communicate all training needs, dates and locations
iii. Participate in weekly supervisor meetings
iv. Conduct monthly mentor meetings
v. Coordinate with HR to maintain residential employee files
c. Oversee and approve all hours worked by residential personnel so they are
accurate and submitted timely to the accounting department for payroll.
d. Empower staff by providing effective training and support while maintaining an
expectation of high accountability
2. Implementation of daily schedule
a. Become the safety officer and maintain safety on and off campus
b. Facilitate on-the-shift trainings with mentors and supervisors to ensure positive
staff culture
c. Participate in residential meetings and activities to ensure positive student culture
3. Safety and security of students, staff and facility
a. Ensure P&P training is followed (require high program knowledge of staff)
b. Maintain appropriate staff-to-student ratios
c. Reporting (issues/incidents, facility issues, etc)
d. Lead student behavior/therapeutic intervention plans
4. Participate in weekly administrative meetings (WAM) and Incident Review meetings.
