Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Description The Behavioral Health Operational Solutions & Technology (BHOOST) section of the Research Transition Office (RTO) in the Center of Military Psychiatry and Neuroscience (CMPN) at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) is seeking a graduate or postdoctoral fellow in psychology, education, public health, or a related field.
What will I be doing and why I should apply?
As a postdoctoral research fellow with BHOOST RTO, you will experience collaborating with various Department of Defense (DoD) agencies on projects ranging from device capability evaluations, examination of objective physiological metrics to detect stress, behavioral health conditions, and neurological disruption, and developing specialized trainings to address secondary traumatic stress.
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will:
· Design research projects and protocols
· Conduct focus groups and interviews
· Conduct complex statistical analyses (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods)
· Prepare and present research findings through briefs, technical reports, conference posters, and empirical manuscripts for scientific publication
· Assist with grant writing and preparation
· Collaborate with other research team members and provide training support to other team members as needed
The training environment provides both advanced research training, career preparation, and access to the military research network (e.g., Defense Health Agency, Army Futures Command).
This Fellowship is a non-clinical training experience that does not include formal opportunities for accruing clinical hours for licensure or credentialing. At the completion of the training experience, you will have the skills and experience necessary to become independent scientists with expertise in military psychology.

What is the anticipated start date?
The WRAIR is ready to make appointments in June 2024. Exact start dates will be determined at the time of selection and in coordination with the selected candidate. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and internships will be filled as qualified candidates are identified.
What is the appointment length?
This appointment is a twelve-month research appointment, with the possibility to be renewed for additional research periods. Appointments may be extended depending on funding availability, project assignment, program rules, and availability of the participant.

Qualifications The qualified candidate will have received a Doctoral degree in psychology, education, public health, or a related field, or be currently pursuing a degree with an
anticipated graduation date no later than August 31, 2024.

· Experience in research project planning, generating and collecting data, and analyzing data.
