SUMMARY OF POSITION
Lead or participate in cross functional teams of engineering, manufacturing, and scientific staff to achieve high level product development
project goals through planning, budgeting, and execution in addition to participating in or leading in the implementation of new product,
software, and processes, including creation of an overall implementation plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Be responsible for product design, engineering, and research projects
- Coordinate product launch and lifecycle activities
- Design and execute internal testing plans for new product development
- Travel for external product development field testing and service calls on unusual field problems as needed
- Perform in‐house product analysis
- Develop thermal systems models
- Change/modify assembly drawings, bills of material, and costs estimates
- Coordinate change orders and distribute as required
- Establish specifications and tolerances for parts and materials
- Communicate with customers and Service Departments to resolve problems with equipment
- Perform failure analysis of returned components and make recommendations/modifications to remedy problem
- Provide technical direction to Project Managers, QA, QC, Sales, and Service Technicians
- Develop and provide engineering support for in house software
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university or equivalent. 3-5 years
related experience. Knowledge of manufacturing methods used in HVAC&R.
Skills: Ability to use Microsoft product software. Talented, highly motivated individual with good engineering judgment. Effective oral and
written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Strong
interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to guide and influence others. Intermediate computer skills. Ability to read and interpret Electrical
code.
Knowledge HVAC systems and components preferred, specifically:
· Electric motors
· Fans
· Pumps
· Compressors
· Mass and heat transfer
· Controls
Certificates, Licenses, or training: FE license preferred.
INTERACTION WITH OTHERS
Answers to Director of Product Development. Must be able to accurately receive and understand instructions from supervisor to determine if
further instruction is required before attempting to complete the task assigned. In constant communication with other departments (Sales,
production, etc.). It is essential that the employee is able to work with all employees of the RAE team and shows a spirit of cooperation with
others in the organization.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The job is conducted primarily in a climate controlled office setting, with occasional exposure to manufacturing environment including moving
mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
