Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) oversees all activities of a residence hall. Responsible for student housing assignment, maintenance of facilities, and safety of residents. Being a Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) ensures students follow college/university conduct policies and takes appropriate disciplinary actions when rules are broken. Incumbent is not given room and board at the residence hall as part of the employment arrangement. Additionally, Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) oversees maintenance and renovation, purchase and inventory of supplies, assignment of semester rooms and summer housing, housekeeping functions, and management of student conduct and discipline. Room and board in the residence hall is not included in the terms of employment. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Res.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    Title: Case Manager, Department of Corrections / Harrington Hall (Individuals)

    Reports to: Team Leader DOC Program

    Purpose: Provides comprehensive case management to homeless clients being released from the RIDOC and current shelter clients determined to have significant incarceration histories and higher acuity, including assessment, case planning, evaluation of services and transition to housing.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Advocates for the mission of the organization and promotes the vision and direction of the agency’s values
    • Delivers services with safety, respect, and effectiveness
    • Follows all policies and procedures of the organization
    • Participates in assessment review with Team Leader and Diversion & Assessment Specialist
    • Completes SPDAT assessments as needed with clients
    • Works with Housing Locator to identify appropriate housing and assist with all move-in activities
    • Completes safety plan and risk minimization plan to appropriately support residents in community, including home visits and accompaniment to appointments
    • Maintains professional rapport with service user, peers, and other community service providers
    • Practices fidelity to the Intensive Case Management Housing First Model, working with service users to achieve greater independence over time
    • Provides referrals to appropriate other service providers within the agency and externally
    • Balances the needs of caseload based upon acuity, length of time in the program, state of housing stability, etc., supporting 18-25 individuals at one time
    • Advocates for the resident as needed
    • Reviews and evaluates resident progress on an ongoing basis and adjusts case plans as appropriate
    • Organizes and maintains resident case files in a timely fashion and in accordance with Crossroads policies and professional practice
    • Performs other duties as assigned


    Requirements


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field OR
    • Associates Degree in a Human Services field plus a minimum of 2 years experience in a Human Services field such as advocacy or case management OR
    • A certification in Case Management plus a minimum of 2 years experience in a Human Services field such as advocacy or case management OR
    • A minimum of 8 years experience in a Human Services field such as advocacy or case management.

    Ability to work in a fast paced environment

    Must work well under pressure

    Must be flexible and able to multi-task

    Must be able to work effectively with populations that have experienced vulnerability, trauma, economic poverty, incarceration, substance use, developmental delays, compromised mental wellness, brain injuries, literacy and numeracy issues, and/or, other conditions or situations that have impacted housing stability

    Must be solution-focused and organized in achieving objectives with all service users

    Must be able to motivate and organize self to complete tasks with service users, often in non-therapeutic environments

    Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the work environment

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Computer skills and data entry required

    Requires reliable transportation outside of the public transit system

    Must be able to pass a background check
