Rehabilitation Services Manager plans and implements the overall rehabilitation functions policies, procedures, and services. Ensures efficient and effective operations for physical therapy, sports medicine, occupational therapy and speech departments. Being a Rehabilitation Services Manager identifies services through program planning and facilitates program development. May require an advanced degree. Additionally, Rehabilitation Services Manager typically reports to a director. The Rehabilitation Services Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Job Summary:

    Directs and supervises various levels of ancillary personnel, staffing and caseload control, while utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion as well as independent judgment. Serves as administrative support for managers. Oversees area and/or unit operations, ensuring delivery of timely and quality clinical services.

    Job Requirements:

    Education and Work Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology: Required
    • Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology: Preferred
    • Five years' technical experience: Preferred

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • State Occupational Therapy (OT) license or State Physical Therapy (PT) license or State Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license: Required
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association certification: Required
    • National Occupational Therapy (NOT) license: Preferred
    • American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) License: Preferred
    • America Physical Therapy Association (APTA): Preferred
    • Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) or Speech-Language Pathology (SLP): Required

    Essential Functions:

    • Serves as both a clinical/professional role model/resource for department personnel, assisting in plan formulation, methodology creation, professional growth strategy development, personal enhancement and delivery of patient care. Acts as a liaison to physicians and other hospital personnel in matters concerning area operations. Provides day-to-day technical leadership while performing escalated or complex duties.
    • Assesses personnel strengths, capabilities and limitations. Analyzes scope of responsibilities and skills of staff. Ensures accuracy of personnel performance and completion of assigned tasks. Identifies employee growth and development opportunities. Provides immediate corrective action and feedback, as needed.
    • Provides patient evaluation, treatment and care during times of high census. Completes patient evaluations, implementing advanced clinical tests, as needed. Incorporates treatments and approaches based on prescribed treatment plans. Documents and assesses patient status and management.
    • Collaborates with management and top professionals/specialists in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach. Conducts performance reviews and provides input on direct reports for human resource decisions such as hiring, promotions and disciplinary actions. Participates in the development of employees. Participates in the preparation of the department budget.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
